It was announced for Fall of 2012 during Microsoft's E3 2011 Press Conference. Sure the date may change but what I'm more concerned about is whether or not it will launch with a new console. If you haven't seen the teaser trailer see my other blog post here
I had really hoped that Microsoft would hold off on another Halo game and set it to release with a new console on launch day. Perhaps Microsoft is planning on releasing a new console, afterall Fall of 2012 is still a long ways away (not to mention eerily close to the end of the world). Since they didn't specifically state that it would be on Xbox 360 there is a chance that it will launch with a new console (Xbox 720 or whatever they plan to call it). I think they need to stop desecrating the Halo series by continuing to release games on outdated technology (if you don't understand this, play games on a PC, or check out my Witcher 2 videos, you will be amazed if you are only a console gamer). We are long overdue for a console, wouldn't you agree?
