The Witcher 2 - Find Malena (Where do I find Malena?)

Watch the Video below or read. Malena is running off while you fight off the damn elves by the Waterfall. She did not get far though. As you are headed along the path back away from the waterfall there is another small path up the left (watch out for traps) where you will see a cut-scene with some guy asking for help. Then you have to fight a few monsters (I left this out of the video). Just go up the by building, she is hiding behind the wall.

Were you guys pissed too when you found out she double-crossed you? I was so happy heading out to the waterfall hoping to get lucky! It's ok I killed that bitch...since there was no rape button :p

The Witcher 2 (Find some ostmurk or go with Sile to fight the Kayran)

Watch the video below or read on. Sile is in her room over the "inn" or the bar where all your buddies are. It's where Tris (your gf) is sitting at the table. From there exit out to the side that has the stairs leading UP one more level. So leave the bar, look for the stairs, then go up and it's the second door on your right. You'll know it's her room because there some weird triangle drawn on the floor and some witchcraft nonsense in the room.

If she is not there then there must be some kind of glitch. Try reloading the game from you last save or go out to a different area and then come back. If that doesn't work try arm wrestling the dwarf in the bar or getting a hooker in the lower level.

If you need the Ostmurk go talk to Cedric, he'll tell you where you can find it. Cedric is up on a platform, you need to climb a few ladders to get to him.

BRINK Game review (yes it sucks)

I had to make this review because I wanted to save many of you who have pre-orders. Please PLEASE rent this game FIRST if you are interested in purchasing it. I repeat DO NOT BUY this game, RENT it first!
There are many problems with this game, it won't appeal to a mass market, and many people (emo kids) will love that because they need something "exclusive" and cult like. If you like COD, HALO, GEARS, and are expecting a decent game play with a good campaign to start off then this is NOT the game for you. You have been warned!
The concept and the trailer for BRINK are great. The into to the story is great...basically you are on an "Ark" that was built out on the ocean to escape some kind of population boom (people were running out of space on land I guess so they went out to sea). Of course this goes horribly wrong and the place becomes a total wasteland (read, developers won't have to work hard on graphics since everything will be in crap condition).
You start off the campaign and get to choose whether you want to save the ark or escape the ark (ark = floating city). I chose to save the ark and started out the game. I noticed the character modles are disfigured and annoying to look at. I understand they wanted to go with a unique look to make the game distinct, but they really screwed up with this. The characters are horrendus and if you have younger brothers/sisters or kids don't let them be in the room when you play this game. Not because of the violence but because of how scary the characters are. They might even give YOU nightmares.
BRINK does not have Xbox 360 controller support! I fired up my xbox 360 controller for windows only to find that the game did not support it. FINE! I'll play with the mouse & keyboard. The graphics suck, the gameplay sucks, the objectives suck, everything about this game except for the trailer and the intro SUCK.
Sure some people may like this game, but I could not play for more than 10mins. It's a retarded game and you can say what you want but I promise you this will reflect in their sales numbers.
DO NOT BUY THE GAME BRINK, IT SUCKS, end of story!
I can only imagine how shitty it must look on Xbox 360, I feel so bad for those who went ahead and bought it without renting or reading reviews.

Crysis 2 Pinger Strategy (with Video)

Having trouble with the Pinger in Crysis 2? You're not alone. It was very frustrating for me as well. That's why I wanted to take the time to share some tips here for those having trouble.

The first time I battled the pinger it wasn't that bad (in daylight), when I got to the terminal Level it wasn't that easy (that's when you're inside the building). The Ceph keep showing up and screwing up my game.

Seems that the AI is conditioned to releasing more Ceph when the Pinger has taken a certain amounts of damage (when you see the red "bulb" shooting out sparks expect more). If you haven't figured it out already the way to take the pinger down is to shoot the red dangling "bulb" thing at it's back (update: not sure if you need to do that)

This is hard since it means you have to sneak behind him while cloaked or do hit and run attacks when he's distracted. Let's go over how he attacks:

1. Releases EMP ball which brings down your shield
2. Fires his weapon
3. Some other weird thing

When he shows up (burst through the wall in the Terminal Level) cloak and hide somewhere, if you have the sniper rifle take down the few Ceph buddies that come with him without giving away your position. Line up your shot, uncloak, Fire, cloak. Repeat. This way when you fire your energy isn't all gone. Now that those fools are gone you can make sure you have the heavy weapons, first gather some of the JAW missile launcher (rocket launcher). On Xbox 360 just hit "up" on the D-pad to go into Tac assessment mode, it will highlight where all the weapons are. Make note of the "swarmer" weapon which for the terminal level is shown on the Tac as "acquire".

Once you have the Rocket Launcher (JAW) go ahead and sneak behind him from the second level. Hopefully at this point he's still distracted with the marines. Stay cloaked, line up a shot, uncloak, Fire, cloak again, and hide. If he's still distracted, do this again to launch off shots with as many rocket launcher as you can find.

Get to know the area because it's going to be important for your survival. The problem with fighting the pinger is that you don't have your suit energy to use which you've relied on for most of the game. There's an area, a small room on the opposite end of the wall which he broke through, that is a great hide out when you get over-whelmed. It's great because unlike most of the walls on the second floor and around the wall here can't be destroyed.

Using your MAP will be really really important here. You need to know what the pinger is up to before you attack, you don't want him to see you because he's really stubborn and will keep attacking you incessantly (annoyingly) making it hard to escape or let off any shots without dying. At some point (when the pinger has taken a certain amount of damage) the bigger Ceph guy will come around. (you know the guy who glows red and gives you 300 nano-catalyst to collect) He's like the Golden Elite covenant from the Halo world. I died many times trying to fight him (even on easy) while fighting the pinger. I found the best way to deal with these guys is to wait for them to come to you. Hide in the room at the end of the building I talked about. When the big guy is coming throw some C4 at him and hit the button. There's no time to be distracted with that idiot when you have the pinger to deal with. Just take him out quick with the C4 and get it over with. For the other guys, let them come to the room, let off a shot gun shot when they turn the corner and go into armor mode, then melee them rapidly and they go down quick (might not work on hard difficulty).

Once you take care of them it's back to the pinger, wait for him to fire that energy ball, let your suit energy charge up, go into cloak mode and dash away from where he shot the ball. Hide somewhere. If you're out of the Rocket Launchers (JAW) use the swarmer. But be warned, the swarmer is heavy and makes it easy for you to die since you can't move around with it as fast. You can also try using the swarmer first while the pinger is still distracted with the marines. If you run out of all those heavy weapons you can camp out somewhere and let off shots with your sniper rifle or some other weapon, it should take too many more hits to bring him down if all those heavy weapons haven't already. Relax, don't waste all your hard work by going kamikaze and attacking him, I died many times this way because I got frustrated. The pinger can be tough. Just use common sense and keep at it.

If you have any other tips leave them below in the comments.

******* UPDATE************

I found the fastest way is to collect some C4, hide on the bottom floor right next to where he is about to break through the wall, run up behind him and stick him with the C4 (when you get close enough the reticule turn red and you can stick him). I threw 4 C4's at him, hid in the room at the bottom and hit the button. After that, I used 2 JAW missiles. Then I went and got the swarmer and hit him about 3 times. Now instead of 10+ mins I can beat him in 5mins. I had no idea that you could stick him with C4.

When will we see photo realistic graphics in gaming?

Answer: We already have them. With the first Microsoft Directx 11 card already out (ATI Radeon HD 5870) and Nvidia said to release a DirectX compatible card later this month (or at least before Black Friday) photo-realistic graphics have been a reality for some time. Take a minute to click the above image. Can you guess which side is real and which side is fake? Okay so you probably saw the top and cheated but if you hadn't you wouldn't be able to tell would you? So you maybe asking yourself what has taken place that allows this level of realism in games now? It's simple really; as computing power has increased we have more polygons (e.g. triangles) with which to make images. Think of the polygons as "dots" and imagine trying to draw a picture of a 2 inch car with 10 dots. There wouldn't be much detail right? Now imagine trying to draw that same car with 1000 dots...10,000 dots. Do you get the idea? More dots equals more detail, SIMPLE! Back in the Nintendo days of 1988 when I was playing Mario Bros. there weren't many "dots" for the developers to make images with.

Today the level of detail is so high that the human eye can be fooled easily. Another hurdle to create realism seems to be the lighting in any given area. Although they've improved the lighting dramatically (I remember playing Shenmue on Sega Dreamcast and thinking it was the most amazing thing) it still needs some work.

Watch the Video above showcasing the power of DirectX

The real question is when will we see this type of realism on say the PS3 or the Xbox 360. Well, I would say that we won't. Neither of those consoles supports DirectX 11. Computer graphics have always been ahead of console graphics, mostly because the graphics card that it takes to achieve this type of realism costs more than either console (or more than both if you buy the cheapest one of each) at about $400 for the Diamond ATI Radeon HD5870 (currently the top card on the market). The type of graphics you see with games like Crysis are for high-end enthusiasts. The average gamer is not willing to pay $1500 for a top-of-the-line gaming computer. However, it is my belief that with the next iteration of each console (PS4 and Xbox 720, IF they call it that) we'll be able to get these type of graphics or better. Surely the next release of each of these consoles will support DirectX 11 or if they release it late due to economic problems we might see them supporting DirectX 12.

Though we don't know exactly what the future holds for gaming we can be sure it will be more engaging, realistic, and immersive than ever before. Computer technology today can't even be pushed to it's limit by the applications 95% of people use. The technology is making leaps and bounds and as computers and consoles update to the right technology for the average consumer price point we'll see these type of realistic graphics on everyone's TV.

Currently Microsoft has it's hands tied up with "Project Natal". Watch the above video. If you thought the Nintendo Wii controller was cool the possibilities with natal (pronounced Nah-tal, not nate-al) will blow your mind away.

Thinking 1440

What does that mean and what will this blog cover? Well, basically a lot of people tell me I offer insight to a lot of things and help them see a different perspective. Many people have such a narrow-minded view on things and I feel as if one of my talents is to be able to see things from multiple perspectives. I don't know if anyone will read this blog but I'm going to put my ideas out there on the web and hopefully, it will offer people some insight to the world in a way they have never seen it before. This blog is not necessarily a politically correct blog. Oh and what is thinking 1440? Well, me and a friend often times would say that you need to see things through to their entirety. You need to be careful what your doing, watch your back, have a 360 Degree view on things, and he said no 720 degree view, and I said NO, how about a 1440 degree view (720x 2)! And thus the phrase was born!! Thinking 1440 is being able to see things full circle x 4 and from multiple perspectives....
